In this role, you will perform a variety of inspections on meters and metering equipment, which may include reading meters and inspecting interior/exterior service lines and meters for leaks and/or outside atmospheric corrosion inspections. In addition, you will operate associated data entry devices and report inspection results required by the work performed. Are you interested? Apply today!! The FMS Apprentice: Learns to and performs field service-related work activities, such as installation and repair of electronic monitoring and reading equipment on residential and small commercial accounts [4 dial indexes] and curb box verification work and turning gas off while performing this order type). Learns to and performs atmospheric corrosion surveys to identify and report atmospheric corrosion. Learns to and performs DOT inspection and Meter Reading functions. May accompany FMS personnel as they perform their normally assigned duties in the field. May perform other duties such as miscellaneous surveys. Operates and maintains company vehicle, while maintaining vehicle inventory in a neat and orderly manner. Operates associated data entry devices as required. Prepares documents and reports as required by the work assigned. Properly cares for and handle all tools and work equipment used in assigned job duties. Communicate professionally with customers to promote customer satisfaction. Shifts may be assigned on a rotating basis. Who you are: You have: A minimum of a High School diploma or GED with 0-2 years' direct experience. A valid Driver's License. Must be able to pass both the Human Performance Evaluation (physical test) and drug test. Good customer service skills and strong communication skills. You are: Able to work overtime and all shifts as required. Preferred Assets: Mechanical aptitude. The company is actively seeking United States military veterans and service members who meet the qualifications below: Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined under Minimum Requirements. Working Conditions: Travel up to 25%. Office Work Environment up to 25%. Work is performed in all weather conditions and environments, including high traffic urban areas as well as rural off-road areas. This is a Safety Sensitive position and will be subject to random drug testing. Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
