Tool Room Supervisor Custom Plastic Manufacturing The Tool Room Supervisor is responsible for the management of toolroom personnel, production, and inventory. This entails the management of production schedules, manpower, and efficient operations to assure overall cost effectiveness. This role will work closely with the Design, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering staff to manage and complete projects. Essential Functions: This position is responsible for the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities: Interpret BOM s and drawings to order materials for tooling and fabrication jobs with Engineering oversite. Place PO s for tools and dies as required in support of the toolroom and engineering. Build and manage a tooling scheduling process to include pro-active tooling maintenance activities. Plan administrative engineering documentation changes. Including ECN s, NC s and CAPA s Facilitate Project/Machine sustainment thru the creation of: Instruction manuals, PM cycles, spare parts recommendations. Assemble and share established regulatory and compliance information for customer requests. (REACH Rohs, Prop65 etc.) Oversee Unipoint and publish indicators defining use and diligence. SolidWorks design/ detailing tasks as required. Help establish, track, and publish engineering project KPI s. Provide input and analysis for PPAP, PQ and FA requirements for customer qualification processes. Help Engineering with pre-project data collection from established sources. CI Program Support: idea tracking, indicator tracking. Support the scheduling and ordering of materials for prototyping and development efforts. Management and supervision of tooling projects from receipt of raw material through the tool build process and into production. Manage toolroom inventory of raw materials and tool components. Lead process for records to comply with regulatory requirements, good manufacturing practices, and Standard Operating Procedures. Manage workflow by monitoring steps of the process, processing variables, operator s methods, and equipment functionality. Implement constant and continuous improvement to processes and methods to meet objectives and maximize the manufacturing efficiencies in material and personnel utilization. Work closely with Quality Control, the Planner/Scheduler, and Production to ensure tooling is complete and production ready to meet customer requirements. Creation of shift reporting and managerial reporting to monitor progress in key areas as assigned. Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Management and supervision of tooling projects from receipt of raw material through the tool build process and into production. Provide regular feedback on performance, attendance, and attitude during both scheduled and unscheduled performance evaluations. Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action. Coordinate efforts of the Tooling Group to ensure an efficient approach to problem solving. Translating engineering documentation to manage a d procure project materials and components. Identify and report any unsafe work conditions, behaviors, or incidents. Follow and adhere to all safety procedures. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
