Role Overview:
The Sourcing Commodity Manager will drive program success by expertly managing the acquisition of goods. The role leverages in-depth knowledge of sourcing policies and best practices to negotiate with suppliers and make strategic decisions that enhance the procurement process. The Sourcing Commodity Manager ensures adherence to specifications, budget, and schedule requirements, and ensures seamless communication with suppliers to foster the relationships that are instrumental in achieving our goals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Own Sourcing and Procurement strategy from Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) into Production.
Partner with other Commodity Managers and Commodity Leaders to put Bulk Purchase Agreements (BPAs) in place for every supplier on the program.
Leverage the GE Aerospace enterprise and relationships with other Sourcing team members to negotiate with suppliers.
Create negotiation parameters and negotiate to them based on overall Sourcing strategy in alignment with the Integrated Project Team (IPT).
Drive new supplier development with cross-functional teams to ensure suppliers are set up to meet rates that are Right First Time.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that established suppliers can meet the requirements of the program.
Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels.
Travel 30%
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experiencing in Sourcing, Commodity Management, and/or Supplier Management)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sourcing, Commodity Management, and/or Supplier Management.
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Demonstrated knowledge of FLIGHT DECK fundamentals and continuous improvement knowledge
Active security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skill
Ability to work in complex, rapid and ambiguous environments
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
