Job Description

Position Overview:

The Tax Manager will oversee all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and regulatory adherence for our operations in Mexico. This includes managing tax filings, conducting research on tax regulations, and collaborating with internal teams to optimize compliance strategies. The ideal candidate will have extensive tax experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all federal, state, and municipal taxes (IVA, ISR, IEPS, etc.).

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns, reconciliations, and other regulatory filings in compliance with SAT and local tax authorities.

  • Oversee compliance with transfer pricing regulations and documentation requirements.

  • Prepare tax provisions for financial statements following IFRS/Mexican GAAP.

  • Manage the annual tax audit (SIPRED) requirements, including responding to the auditor’s queries and managing the audit timeline in order to file in a timely manner. Support the monthly close process and ensure assigned tasks are completed timely (i.e tax provisions and reconciliations)

  • Support annual financial statement audit with preparation of workpapers, audit report and communication with management/auditors

  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to optimize the company's tax position.

  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the business.

  • Lead tax audits, manage interactions with SAT, and respond to tax authority inquiries.

  • Ensure internal controls and procedures are in place to mitigate tax risks.

  • Partner with accounting, finance, and legal teams to ensure tax compliance and efficiency.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English (written & spoken).

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Software:

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • ERP systems Oracle (preferred)

  • Provide tax guidance on business transactions, mergers, and acquisitions and financial models

  • Support payroll and employee taxation matters.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.

  • CPA, Tax Certification or Master’s in Taxation (preferred).

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in tax management, preferably in a multinational company or Big 4 firm.

  • Strong knowledge of Mexican tax laws, IFRS, and local GAAP.
