EMSL is currently seeking a Food Microbiologist I in Cinnaminson, NJ. This role will encompass preparation and analysis for food microbiology samples. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Assist with media preparation for samplesAssist with prepping samples and pH adjustments for samples received by clients for analysisDocumentation of sample preparation and analytical activitiesQuantitative and Qualitative Analysis for food to include: Aerobic Plate Count, Total Coliform / E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Yeast & Mold, Salmonella, Listeria, E. coli O157:H7Confirmation analysis of presumptive and suspect isolates, requiring critical and flexible thinking approachesConduct specialty projects as needed such as: Shelf Life Studies, Challenge Studies, and FDA Import Detention ProjectsAssist with laboratory organization including supply inventory, calibrations, cleaning and maintenance of lab equipmentWill be cross trained in Environmental Microbiology (microscopy) and must be willing to cross train in additional areas as neededRequirements:Bachelor's Degree preferably in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, or other Life Science disciplineOne to Two years previous commercial lab experience is a plusExperience with aseptic technique, food microbiology, or other culture-based microbiology lab experience requiredAbility to able to work independently and with a teamCandidate must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisMust be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignmentsMust have good communication, computer, typing and organizational skillsMust be willing to work over-time and weekends, as neededAvailable Shift:Sunday to Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Training Schedule to start will be Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For consideration all candidates must apply through our careers website: https://phf.tbe.taleo.net/phf02/ats/careers/v2/viewRequisition?org=EMSL&cws=40&rid=4280 EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending accountTo find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.com EOE including Veterans and Disabled
