Job Overview Support the educational research mission of the department and the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS). Gather and analyze data from various databases and sources/instruments, perform statistical and/or mathematical programming, develop reports and visual representations, design, develop and/or maintain information databases, and provide consultation, technical assistance, and coordination for a wide variety of faculty and CEAS stakeholders. Essential Functions Design, collect, report, statistically analyze, develop models, and/or graphically represent CEAS data and information. Develop methods and/or simple tools to automate data collection, analysis, and reporting. Coordinate with university IT as needed. Assist with various tasks associated with assessment studies, analysis, and evaluation of academic and non-academic topics. Design, develop and/or maintain an information database that includes the integration of data from existing laboratory data systems. Be proficient in most phases of database management. Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Statistics, or related field Required Experience Minimum of two (2) years' experience developing data analysis tools or models, or equivalent course work at the undergraduate level Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building/managing large data sets, analyzing statistical techniques and software, and reporting data in a meaningful format or equivalent course work at the undergraduate level Additional Qualifications Considered Excel at statistically analyzing and modeling data and drawing appropriate conclusions. Proficient with statistical applications and can automate routine procedures and/or create tools that increase productivity and efficiency. Effective presentation skills across a diverse audience. Have programming skills and in-depth knowledge of languages such as Python. Knowledge of computer and instrument hardware and data acquisition systems to provide low level IT support Experience with analyzing and modeling biosensor data. Strong motivation and ability to work independently. Ability to work productively with others in a highly collaborative manner.
