About the School of Information Technology The School of Information Technology (SoIT) is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT is home to Ohio's first Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. In addition, it is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor ofScience in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT has been growing at 20% annually and currently serves more than 2300 students with 32 full-timefaculty members, 30 full-time staff, and 39 adjunct faculty. The SoIT is a leader in a new sub disciplinary area, ecological IT, at the intersection of information technology and ecology/applied biology. The SoIT has several projects that utilizes internet of things technologies along with data analytics technologies to understand ecological changes and develop sustainable solutions and is looking to expand this disciplinary space through courses and academic programs. We are looking for a post-doctoral fellow to leverage data from environmental sensors to assist in the development of IT solutions for the conservation of imperiled bats. Job Overview The Post Doc Fellow is a two-year grant-funded position to assist the Principal Investigator in studies and applications of technological solutions for biodiversity conservation. The Post Doc Fellow will conduct field and laboratory research, analyze data, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and develop plans for sustainable solutions. Field research will include deploying IT solutions such as wildlife sensors including cameras, acoustic recorders, and climate dataloggers along with associate data analytics and software tools. Lab research will include creating prototypes of conservation solutions and determining user needs and experiences.
