POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES The Mechanical Engineer I plays a key role in the successful execution of projects. This individual will provide technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. The Engineer is responsible for a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and managed - both externally and internally. The successful candidate will also contribute to a dynamic team environment by being proactive, communicating clearly and frequently, and modeling a highly collaborative working environment. Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and to ensure application of Thermodynamic Principles (e.g., HVAC Engineering and Design, load/energy modeling calculations, etc.). Develop estimates for assigned scope of work and is accountable for ensuring we stay within scope. Support the business development process through input to proposals, meeting and presenting to prospective customers, etc. Support work direction to other team members, including subcontractors, as assigned. Review of drawing submittals. Provide technical and engineering support to other departments/disciplines. Construction administration- attend meetings, review change orders, assist with RFI's. QUALIFICATIONS Required Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 0 - 4 years of mechanical engineering experience. Knowledge in both Revit and/or AutoCAD. Basic understanding of Architectural, Electrical, Civil and Structural Engineering construction practices. Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers. Ability to assimilate a range of ideas, programs, or alternatives into a set of recommendations. Self-directed and thrives in an environment where consultation leads to superior outcomes. Adaptable and agile, responsive to quick changes in direction. Ability to establish rapport and credibility with customers and other stakeholders. Represent the company in a professional matter. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective meeting management skills. Strong attention to detail. Knowledge of computer technology and specific areas of application, including MS Office. Travel: May include up to 25% domestic travel Preferred Successful completion of Mechanical Engineering internship(s) or co-op(s) or related industry experience. Professional Engineer (PE) certification or willingness to pursue this designation is highly preferred. Working Conditions Some work locations will feature the tough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.
