Job Overview The Director of K-12 Educational Programs will lead and expand the Cincinnati Ethics Center's K-12 initiatives, championing the goal to foster moral reasoning, decision-making, dialogue, and leadership skills in students in the Greater Cincinnati Area. The individual will be responsible for the execution of existing programs, development of new initiatives, and building lasting relationships with both schools and community organizations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and reasoning skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex, high-level responsibilities. It is essential that this person have a deep understanding of best practices for youth education, and be able to educate and train individuals to implement some of those practices. This is a 3-year term position funded from a philanthropic gift, and it is renewable contingent upon adequate future funding. Essential Functions Program Management & Development: Co-lead and execute of the Greater Cincinnati High School Ethics Bowl Collaborate on curriculum development projects to ensure program relevance and alignment with educational standards. Organize and facilitate professional development workshops for K-12 educators. Develop, implement, and evaluate ethics-related workshops for K-12 students. Relationship Management & Outreach: Steward and deepen relationships with current K-12 educator partners. Identify, cultivate, and establish new partnerships with schools and community organizations. Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and other public events to promote the Cincinnati Ethics Center's mission and programs. Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop team members working on K-12 programs. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Ensure ongoing training and professional development opportunities for the team. May provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor's Degree Eight (8) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience Four (4) years of experience in program development or business administration. Some positions may require one (1) year of supervision. Additional Qualifications Considered Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of experience teaching/working with K-12 students or Master's degree in education, ethics/philosophy, or related academic field. Experience with educational program development and evaluation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and lead diverse teams.
