About the School of Information Technology The School of Information Technology is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time. The SoIT (School of InformationTechnology) is home to Ohio's first Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology. In addition, it is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor ofScience in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. The SoIT has been growing at 20% annually and currently serves more than 2300 students with 32 full-timefaculty members, 27 full-time staff, and 39 adjunct faculty. More information about the schoolcan be found at. Job Overview The School of Information Technology (SoIT) seeks to hire a leader to join its diverse team as a business manager. The SoIT Business Manager is an integrated role that supports the overall operation of the SoIT and its strategic plan (. The business manager reports to the Associate Director of Business Affairs and works closely with the School Director. The SoIT Business Manager is a member of the SoIT Operations Cross Functional Team and leads the financial/hr functional team. The SoIT Business Manager is responsible for a wide range of projects/tasks associated with primary business operations, academic, or student services. Responsibilities include day-to-day administration of specialized activities, provide recommendation and advice on process related topics and conduct or carry out work procedures and activities in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations. Essential Functions Manage the financial, administrative, and operational activities of a large and diversified unit with a considerable income generation component. Coordinate budget preparation and may monitor grants and contracts. May determine purchasing priorities and make recommendations for major capital expenditures. Coordinate personnel functions for an operating unit. May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
