The Department of Family Medicine's world-renowned faculty and staff offer an outstanding research, teaching, and medical practice environment. The Department of Family and Community Medicine is recruiting an Assistant Professor of Clinical Family Medicine to serve as the UC Department of Family and Community Medicine Global Health Fellowship Director and see patients clinically at our community partner site, the Cincinnati Health Department. The faculty will contribute to the division's mission, "To inspire and train family physicians to lead and serve in healthcare for vulnerable populations in Cincinnati and around the world." Additionally, they will have teaching responsibilities in co-directing a medical student Global Health Longitudinal Elective, precepting residents and medical students in the office and serving as an attending in Guatemala. The ideal candidate would be a Family Medicine physician with clinical experiences in underserved care domestically and global health work abroad, have an MPH and completed a Global Health Fellowship. Essential Functions Clinical Care: Provide direct patient care services at an assigned clinical site at the Cincinnati Health Department or another approved federally qualified health center. Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the clinical sites. Share on-call responsibilities including outpatient phone call coverage in evenings and occasional weekends or holidays. Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the clinical sites. Supervise and teach learners (residents and medical students) in in an outpatient clinical setting. Global Health Fellowship Director: Oversee the curriculum for one-two global health fellows each year and the application, selection, and budget process for two global health fellows. Teaching: Co-Direct the Medical Student Global Health Longitudinal Elective. Provide learner feedback, written, and verbal. Give resident lectures for the Global Health Curriculum. Scholarship: All faculty are expected to contribute to scholarship, including any of the following: curriculum development; research; regional and national presentations; publications; peer review. On average, each core faculty member is anticipated to complete two scholarly activities per year. Minimum Requirements Medical Degree (MD or DO). Unrestricted Ohio Medical License and DEA license.
