The Department of Family and Community Medicine is recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Palliative Medicine program. The Palliative Medicine program is a growing interdisciplinary service with an expanding presence at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC) and across the health system. The provider will primarily have clinical responsibilities at UCMC with occasional coverage responsibilities at West Chester Hospital. Essential Functions Clinical Care: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary palliative care team to provide evidence-based palliative care services for patients within UC Health. Collaborate with the attending palliative care physician on clinical cases and/or seek supervision/joint visits when felt necessary by either the APP or attending physician. Attend weekly palliative care team meetings. Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the clinical sites. Participate in UC Health palliative care expansion initiatives. Serve on hospital committees as needed. Teaching: Contribute to a positive learning environment for learners. Give lectures as part of the palliative care education series. Provide education and serve as a resource for nursing staff and healthcare providers in area of clinical expertise. Minimum Requirements Nurse Practitioner: Required Education Master's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Required Experience Three (3) years nursing experience; additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty. Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority. Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty. - OR - Physician Assistant: Required Education Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
