Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in Church Hill, Tennessee

Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in process troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving. The successful candidate will utilize their expert-level knowledge to drive process optimization and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify cost reduction projects and collaborate with teams to achieve results.

  • Develop and conduct trials for process mass balance, yield, and stickies.

  • Create training materials for operators and develop tools for continuous monitoring.

  • Work with management and operational teams to utilize the human performance improvement (HPI) process, identifying root-cause off-quality events and implementing permanent solutions.

  • Organize and track solutions in the Enablon system, a mill-wide database.

  • Utilize lean tools such as 6 Sigma, DMAIC, and FMEA to lead team efforts in identifying continuous improvement projects.

  • Act as a safety advocate, leading by example, and drive team efforts to identify root causes of issues, document corrective actions in the mill-wide database, and provide follow-up.

  • Interface with external technical resources and suppliers to initiate cost reduction, quality enhancement, and process improvement trials.

Essential Skills

  • Expert-level knowledge in process engineering and optimization.

  • Experience in paper processing and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in process improvement techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with lean tools such as 6 Sigma, DMAIC, and FMEA.

  • Ability to develop and implement training materials and tools for process monitoring.

Work Environment

The work environment is collaborative, with opportunities to work closely with management and operational teams. The position requires interfacing with external technical resources and suppliers. Safety is a priority, and all team members are expected to advocate for and contribute to a safe working environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
