Pay range is $50,000 - $55,000 per year. Full-time position.

Job Description: Do you have a passion for Erie Canal history and sharing it with others? The Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum is looking for a skilled, creative, energetic person to engage visitors of all ages in the exciting history of the Erie Canal and canal-era life.

The position provides active leadership for the operations, interpretative and educational programming, social media marketing and communications, volunteer management, special events, and gift shop operations of the Museum.

The Mission of the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum (CLCBM) is to educate and inspire the public with the stories of 19th century canal boat builders, travelers, and businesses through the collection, preservation, exhibition, and interpretation of material related to the Chittenango Landing site, and its significance to Old Erie Canal State Historic Park. CLCBM's museum grounds are situated in the Old Erie Canal Historic Park. CLCBM's site includes a visitor center, saw mill, blacksmith shop, mule shed, and general store. CLCBM welcomes over 3,000 visitors per year including 1,500 school-age children.

Equally important, is efficient and effective management. The Coordinator, Programming and Site Operations will oversee daily operations of the visitor center (including administration systems), museum facilities, and gift shop. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Board and Acting Executive Director to increase museum membership, donations, and volunteer efforts.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: -A minimum of three years of operations management experience with increasing responsibility or supervisory experience; preferably with direct customer or volunteer relations or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. -Experience in developing revenue positive programs, events, and festivals preferred. -Experience in grant writing preferred. -Experience in budget development and management, including financial management software. -Experience with administrative and membership management database systems. -Experience with social media marketing, web site design, print media. -Demonstrated attention to detail, time management skills, and problem-solving ability. -Excellent professional communication skills verbal, written, and in-person. -Ability to work with a diverse group of volunteers and with visitors from diverse cultures. -Experience in developing revenue positive programs, events, and festivals required.
-Bachelors degree or equivalent training and experience required. -Masters degree preferred.
-Non-profit or museum experience preferred.

Special Requirements: -Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle to perform job-related tasks. -Must be able to lift 20 pounds and stand/walk for long periods on varying surfaces, inside and outside, and in a variety of conditions. -Must be available to work frequent weekends and occasional evenings.
