Job Description:
Role Summary & Purpose:
Synchrony is seeking a visionary VP, Strategic Workstream Leader, who will spearhead initiatives directly aligned with our Tech & Ops and Growth digital-first strategy. This pivotal role focuses on maintaining the organization's safety and soundness by managing the eGRC (enterprise Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance) issue backlog, supporting widespread compliance initiatives, and propelling key business initiatives aimed at simplifying processes while enhancing both customer and client experiences at scale.
For this role, we seek an inspiring and impactful leader who would be pivotal in driving multiple priorities across the organization, would work across multiple stake holders to layout a shared vision and execute the prioritized road map.

Essential Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Steer a workstream that aligns with Synchrony's strategic imperatives in Tech & Ops and Growth, with a particular emphasis on digital-first strategies.
Issue and Risk Management: Take charge of the eGRC and compliance backlog, identifying, prioritizing, and addressing issues efficiently to uphold the organization's safety and soundness in alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.
Compliance Support: Collaborate with various teams across the organization to bolster compliance initiatives, ensuring alignment with both internal standards and external regulations.
Process Simplification: Identify and implement strategies to streamline processes across the board, with the goal of improving operational efficiency and reducing complexities.
Enhancing Customer Experience: Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing the experience for clients and customers, ensuring Synchrony's offerings are not just market-competitive but also scalable and sustainable.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other leaders and teams across technology, operations, and growth departments to ensure strategic initiatives are harmonized and effectively executed.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
A proven track record of leadership in strategic roles, with a strong focus on technology, operations, and digital transformation initiatives in the financial services
Strong understanding and working knowledge of Fiserv Platforms
Extensive experience in governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC), particularly in managing backlogs and driving compliance-oriented projects
Demonstrable success in process optimization, with tangible results in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction improvement
Excellent strategic vision with the ability to foresee industry trends and align them with the company's growth objectives
Adept at navigating and resolving complex problems through innovative solutions, dealing with ambiguous situations, prioritizing tasks effectively
Acumen to make strategic decisions that consider financial implications and business outcomes
Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of bridging gaps between different departments and ensuring cohesive strategic execution
A bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Technology, or related fields with 9+ years of relevant experience or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree a minimum of 12+ years of relevant work experience
Desired Qualifications
History leading highly strategic change agendas across an enterprise. Acting as both architect of the change / transformation strategy, and executor via collaboration to bring the best out of shared resources
A highly influential leader, able to evangelize a change agenda across an enterprise
Action and detail oriented, excellent organization and prioritization skills
Strong leadership and influencing skills
Grade/Level: 14
The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
