Technical Lead - Claims Applications Engineer at Vantage Services LLC (Chicago, IL) F/T- Lead and deliver IT solutions for claims applications and maintenance. Work collaboratively to understand current and emerging business needs in Insurance. Translate business requirements into pragmatic and functional software application/technology solutions and define, identify, design, implement, and maintain those solutions. Drive day-to-day activities of development team toward quality delivery. Lead technical team, provide technical/functional guidance including expertise in claims application stack, participate in design and code reviews to ensure adherence with coding standards and best practices, and develop and support code management practices and processes. Mentor and train project team members and peers, both internal and vendor partners, to enforce development guidelines and best practices. Lead change by influencing and educating business, IT, and all stakeholders. Maintain system designs and analyze and tune application performance, supportability, and manageability. Position requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, as Software Developer, or related IT position. Alternatively, employer will accept a Masters degree and three (3) years of experience. Full term of experience must include each of the following: Claims application solution delivery and maintenance (SDLC/agile delivery), including integration with policy administration and downstream data analytics; Solution architecture, microservices integration, InsurTech solutions, and data lakes; New solution delivery and production operations, enterprise architecture, and business analysis; Guidewire ClaimCenter version 10 on-premises or cloud full Suite Implementation; Guidewire ClaimCenter data model; Claims configuration and data model, XSLT transforms, and SQL database queries and procedures; Property and casualty insurance claims and underwriting and insurance rules; Claims roles, security, and end-to-end claims process; Hands-on development experience with LOB hierarchy, Admin Data Loader (ADL), GOSU, Page Configurations (PCF), Wizards, Rule Sets, assignments, Transaction approval and Routing, Plugins, Batch Processes, Message Queues, and Event Messaging within Guidewire Claims Center; Integration views, RESTful Web Services, SOAP Web Services, Gosu Queries, Bundles and Database Transactions; Linux JBoss Application servers; Jenkins, DevOps, establishing and managing CI/CD pipelines orchestration for Claims build/deployments; and, Building multi-disciplinary teams across business application areas and enterprise IT functions, and working in an outsourced IT model.
