The Thornton Tomasetti Construction Engineering Practice leverages our core Structural Engineering expertise to meet the engineering needs of our contractor. We provide contractor support engineering, tower crane engineering, skip hoist engineering, shoring and reshoring design, excavation and earth retention engineering, connection design, erection engineering, contractor support engineering. We also partner with contractors and sub-contractors to provide value engineering ideas and perform structural design on design-build projects.

The Role

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer for our Construction Engineering Practice. The Engineer will be involved in tower crane and skip hoist engineering, shoring/ reshoring design, earth retention system design, temporary stability analysis, and the design of structures. The successful applicant will assist in the design of structures that are delegated to the contractor.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for structural analysis, design, detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
• Coordination of design work with in-house staff as we as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
• Preparation of construction documents within a BIM environment.

Requirements:

• Degree (master preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
• Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation

It is based on what a successful Illinois State applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Illinois State or perform the position from Illinois State. Similar positions located outside of Illinois State will not necessarily receive the same compensation.Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted byIllinoisEqual Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee\'s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
