In this role, you will work in a cloud-based environment and serve as a Senior Accounting Associate for one Chicago based client, working with a team of professionals to provide accounting services to their businesses. What you will do:

The Senior Real Estate Accounting Associate will handle corporate accounting matters for various commercial/retail/hospitality assets. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide technical accounting expertise to facilitate timely generation, synthesis and distributi n of accurate financial reports for management and lenders
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close
  • Identify and implement standardized best practices, technologies, and internal controls to help scale efficiently and mitigate risks
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and reporting packages for management and lender reporting
  • Review current and establish new accounting controls in connection with the Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities as requested by client
  • Learn and grow from direct on the job coaching and mentoring along with participating in firm wide learning and development programs
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and with your clients
