Job overview and responsibilities

This position supports the Senior Manager – Claims Analytics, Data Security and Financial Controls in analyzing complex data within workers compensation. This position shall also conduct financial analysis to facilitate cost control, identify trends and opportunities for improvement while collaborating with internal and external partners such as finance, United’s Third-Party Administrator, Actuary and other business partners. This position is Chicago-based hybrid, requiring 2-3 days in office per week.

· Assist in identifying workers compensation resources and combining the data in a secure manner to deploy advanced reporting and tools to enable Senior Leadership to make informed decisions

· Help create analytic tools, reports, presentations and dashboards that will drive the use of advanced analytics to develop trending analysis based on key performance indicators that will lead to better forecasting models

· Manages the Third-Party Administrator Audits with the Workers Compensation Team that includes report writing, preparation of data/audit scores and collaborates to develop performance improvements plans after Audits are completed

· Serves as a point of contact with outside business partners such as the TPA, Actuary, Legal, Annuity Vendor, MSA Vendor and others to share and receive appropriate data to assist United in pursuit of meeting annual goals

· Collaborates with Information Security to contribute to the success of United to ensure that all proper procedures and protocols are enforced for strong data governance in securing and protecting all private and personal information

· Manages and audits the departments financials systems, including payment processes, funding and approval limits for the TPA and other external business partners

· Creates and interprets reports, presentations and other claims or financial information for accuracy and identification of variances in order to proactively address

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

· Bachelor's degree in Administration, Finance or Accounting

· 4 or more years of financial, accounting, auditing or data analytics experience

· Background in financial modeling, analytics and reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI, SQL, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Ability to deliver & communicate complex data in a manner to present key findings or trends to Senior Leadership

· Able to learn new software or systems and create new reporting utilizing enhanced technology

· Ability to travel up to 20%

· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

· Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

· Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
