Pay Range: $27.47 - $43.27 per hour

Summary:
This position manages the daily management of the residency and fellowship program. Is involved in the development and implementation of educational opportunities for the residents. Has major responsibility for resident recruitment. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree.
• 3 years of experience managing programs.
• Experience in Supervision and Development of support personnel.
• Organizational abilities, attention to detail, dependability, trustworthiness.
• Ability to take initiative and represent the Department independently.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Computer skills (word processing, data management, desk-top publishing, web page development, etc.).
• Ability to work with faculty, residents and students in a collegial and collaborative manner.
• Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, ongoing program demands.
• Enthusiasm, patience, ability to work on a team, and a sense of humor.
• Marketing skills to promote the programs.
Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day operations of the residency and fellowship program.
• Represent the program to other university offices, the public, and outside agencies.
• Set-up and maintain various databases for residency tracking purposes.
• Attend all residency program- related meetings.
• Ensure house staff compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Organize and coordinate orientation for incoming interns.
• Make annual updates/revisions to the orientation manuals, policies and procedures for residents.
• Track all resident rotations for reimbursement purposes.
• Collect and submit required information to ACGME, ABP, ABIM and other professional organizations.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to the program assistant, and supervise their completion.
• Coordinate all phases of the recruiting process.
• Organize pre-interview dinners, interview day breakfasts, lunches, and overnight accommodations with resident hosts.
• Develop and produce all residency recruiting material with the Program Directors/Associate Directors·
• Be responsible for all types of communications with applicants.
• Manage the ERAS (Electronic Resident Application System) database.
• With assistance from the program secretary, prepare for, coordinate and host interview days.
• Organize House staff Selection Committee meetings.
• Submit Match list and prepare Match data.
• Work toward continual improvement in the recruitment process.
• Updates website annually Educational Program Coordination.
• Coordinate and monitor bi-annual evaluations of residents, annual resident program evaluations.
• Track electives for residents and facilitate off-site electives.
• Prepare necessary paper work for all off-site resident rotations.
• Ensure residents are registered for the USMLE Step 3 exam (United States Medical Licensing Exam) and facilitate resident licensing.
• Assist residents in keeping BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification current.
• Help plan and coordinate resident retreats and clinical conferences.
• Oversee and act as a resource to the student program coordinator Administrative Assistance to Director, Residents, and Fellows.
• Delegate responsibilities to, supervise, and evaluate the program assistants.
• Assist director to maintain compliance with Program Requirements of the RRC and documentation thereof Assist in any accreditation site visits.
• Organize and coordinate extracurricular activities such as graduation and other social events.
• Review resident schedules and anticipate conflicts.
• Inform residents of job opportunities and maintain a file of same.
• Maintain records of ACGME (Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education) mandated core competency modules.
• Provide support for faculty and resident research activities.
• Proctor yearly In-Training Exam.
• Supervise acquisition of conference rooms for various educational and administrative meetings Coordinator of Alumni Relations.
• Supervise the creation and maintenance of a database of program graduates.
• Compose and distribute a semi-annual electronic newsletter to graduates.
• Coordinate activities involving graduates.
• Other duties as assigned.
