Actalent Quality Control Technician in Chicago, Illinois

Job Title: Quality Control TechnicianJob Description

We are hiring for a Quality Control Technician to support a food manufacturing company in Chicago, IL. You will conduct in-process and finished product quality checks/inspections, test processing batches and finished goods to ensure compliance to specifications, and document results in accordance with established processes and procedures. You will also perform Critical Control verifications, follow Hold procedures for non-conforming material or product, retain samples for Mold Study, review in-process and finished product paperwork, and report any issues regarding food safety or quality to management. Other tasks may be assigned by the QA Manager.

Hard Skills

  • 0-2 years of experience in quality control at a food manufacturing company

  • Bakery experience a plus

  • Experience with document control, quality assurance documentation

  • Maintaining hold logs, food manufacturing logs, conducting ingredient COA reviews and maintaining records

Soft Skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills

  • Problem-solving abilities

  • Flexibility

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Chicago, Illinois.

Work Environment

This is for the 3rd shift opening (10:00pm-6:30am). Mandatory weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) with one day off during the week. Once fully staffed, you will have 2 days off during the week. Pay rates depend on experience: Tier 1 ($17/hr), Tier 2 ($19/hr), Tier 3 ($21/hr). Expect to work 10 hours of overtime per week and come in on weekends. 100% quality control position on the production line.
