Amazon Principal Communications Leader, PXT Transformation Team (PXT3) in Chicago, Illinois

Amazon Worldwide Operations is looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to join the PXT Transformation Team (PXT3) and manage the ongoing integration and expansion of the communications platform for all of Global Operations PXT, a diverse global network of HR professionals. The position will report to the Director of PXT3.

Curious and intuitive, you will develop go-to-market strategies for expanded populations utilizing a centralized source-of-truth communications platform. You will create communication strategy and support and implement projects with transformative impact. This role requires the ability to balance the needs of customers and partners, keep composure in fast-moving, high-impact situations, embrace ambiguity and changing tides, and be able to quickly get up to speed on complex issues.

A day in the life

This position will work with GOPXT Comms to earn trust and build relationships with communications and operations leaders working within various business-line HR functions. They will guide strategic communications that are timely, relevant, clear, and concise. Each day this leader will work with internal stakeholders to understand pain points and problem solve on behalf of our customers.

About the team

The PXT Transformation Team (PXT3) is comprised of three pillars: policy, change management, and communications. Our primary customers are HR leaders within Global Operations.

The mission of the GOPXT Comms team is to build and scale an internal communications infrastructure with global reach and relevance – one that informs, empowers, and supports PXT leaders in their culture-carrying work to raise the bar for our employees.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Experience delivering cross functional projects

  • Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Proven track record of delivery on major internal or external communications campaigns, preferably in an operations environment

  • Experience developing relevant content for a diverse, remote and mobile workforce

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

  • Ability to exercise high judgement, particularly in tight timeframes

  • Strong project management, time management, organizational skills, facilitating work for teams that are responsible for cross-functional deliverables

  • Extensive experience in project management and facilitation of process improvement and governance model initiatives across business operations and technology

  • Experience in PR and/or HR communications in an ops environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communications, with the ability to think and communicate clearly, argue a reasoned point of view on complicated issues, and create a concise and well-written narrative

  • Willing to roll up one’s sleeves and get work done, even when at times it is outside the scope of the job

  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and able to form a cohesive and effective outcome from potentially incongruous facts (or lack thereof) and individual perspectives.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
