The Role:

As a People & Culture Coordinator, you will support the People & Culture (HR) department in various administrative and operational tasks across talent acquisition (TA), company communication, and general HR functions. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional eager to contribute to the success of the HR function. You will assist in maintaining a positive workplace environment, supporting employee relations, and coordinating HR activities.

Role Location:

This role is based in Chicago. We have a hybrid office culture with 2-3 days per week in office. Office is located in River North.

Core Responsibilities:

HR Operations:

  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including record-keeping, document preparation, and organizing meetings.

  • HR Projects: Assist with HR initiatives such as policy updates and compliance tracking.

  • HRIS Support: Help maintain the HRIS (UKG) by updating employee records and generating reports as needed.

  • Payroll Administration: Support in maintaining accuracy of payroll and data entry

  • Compliance Assistance: Support in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

  • Employee Support: Communicate with employees in a timely and professional manner on topics related to HR general inquiries and requests.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Recruitment Support: Assist in job postings, candidate sourcing, scheduling interviews, referral management, and preparing offer letters.

  • Candidate Experience: Provide support to ensure a smooth candidate experience, from application through onboarding.

  • Data Entry & Systems Management: Help manage and update the applicant tracking system (JazzHR) and maintain recruitment records.

  • Onboarding Assistance: Coordinate the logistics of new hire onboarding, including scheduling orientation sessions and preparing materials.

Employee Communication:

  • Company Newsletter: Assist in preparing and distributing the company’s internal newsletter, ensuring timely delivery and content alignment with People & Culture initiatives.

  • Company Communication: Draft and disseminate employee communications related to HR policies, updates, and company announcements.

Outcomes & Measures of Success:

  • Reliable support for HR projects and administrative tasks, contributing to smooth operations.

  • Timely and accurate support in maintaining HR policies, compliance, and project coordination.

  • Efficient coordination of recruitment processes and positive candidate experiences.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields.

  • 1+ year of experience in an HR-related role, with exposure to recruitment or HR operations preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Google Suite and experience with UKG and JazzHR systems preferred.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • A team player with excellent communication and time management skills.

Salary Range Transparency

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary for this position is $60,000-$65,000. All corporate roles are eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
