Key Responsibilities:

The Manager of EA Material Planning oversees a team of supply chain analysts responsible for the coordination and management of all aspects of supply chain readiness to support successful execution of United's aircraft modifications (EAs). The Manager is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the team, setting goals, and working with team members to advance initiatives and execution plans that ensure continued materials delivery for uninterrupted support of United's aircraft modification program. The Manager coordinates closely with their counterparts inside the supply chain to communicate project specifications, evaluate how supply chain processes can support the EA project plan, and making recommendations to ensure maximum alignment of supply chain delivery with aircraft modification schedule. The Manager works with their counterparts in Engineering and Planning to ensure well formulated projects plans and with maintenance customers to understand their needs and make departmental course corrections to deliver good customer service.

  • Responsible for setting strategic direction for the organization, building a vision and effectively communicating direction to team members

  • Set and measure goals and lead change management to achieve objectives

  • Guide team of Material Analysts to ensure overall team cohesion and direction

  • Establish KPIs and measure performance to drive process improvement within the organization

  • Implement technology to enable team members to work more efficiently and eliminate material shortages that lead to project delays

  • Implement analytics and dashboards that allow for effective prioritization and monitoring of the material health of all EAs

  • Use exception management to root cause and address EA material plans that are missing delivery commitments

  • Collaborate with analysts and other work groups within the supply chain to ensure project deliverables that are impactful to Supply Chain are met in a timely manner; lead development of contingency plans to mitigate potential risks to Supply Chain timelines; act as escalation champion to provide leadership and direction in addressing potential roadblocks to timely project completion

  • Develop reports for strategic initiatives (groupings of similar projects with leadership interest) that communicate the overall material readiness to plan, potential risks, and mitigations

  • Interface with leaders to provide weekly updates, receive feedback, and course correct

  • Act as the Supply Chain focal for all EA related work

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in Business, technical, aviation or related discipline

  • 4+ years experience in fields of the Supply Chain, Airline, Manufacturing, or other technical or scientific field

  • Comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain operations and Management

  • Strong Leadership, coaching and communication skills

  • Experience managing large data sets and using data extraction tools and techniques

  • Experience in project managing a number of large project with varying prioritization and completion dates

  • Self-Motivated Engrained Continuous Improvement experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree or 6 years of relevant work experience in Business Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or other technical or scientific field

  • 3+ years as an organizational leader

  • Advanced data analytics, e.g., SQL, Python

  • Advanced MS Office, e.g., VBA

  • Formal Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement methodologies

  • PMI/PMP certified

The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
