Purpose of Role:

The FCM Operations Support Manager is responsible for controlling, reconciling, and monitoring all daily trades, positions, and variation margin across all exchanges and third-party clearers. The role monitors and resolves exchange and regulator reporting requirements and develops technical solutions for operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the Operations Support team.

  • Advise Head of FCM Clearing Operations on areas of operational risk.

  • Report to Head of FCM Clearing Operations on matters regarding the effectiveness, staffing requirements, and other day-to-day issues throughout the Operations Support team.

  • Ensure that the department is always sufficiently staffed, including managing holiday and time off requests.

  • Ensure T+1 Trade, Position & Variation Margin reconciliation for all futures and options exchanges, including third party clearing brokers, are efficiently processed.

  • Certify T and T+1 Exchange position maintenance and position transfers for all futures and options exchanges, including third party clearing brokers, are efficiently processed.

  • Guarantee T+1 daily reconciliation resolution of trade breaks and corrections are adhered to and processed in a prompt manner.

  • Confirm all deliveries are processed in accordance with the exchange rules.

  • Oversee daily and weekly option expirations

  • Inform internal departments, including the senior management team, of significant P&L outages.

  • Maintain a good relationship and be aware of requirements of front office staff.

  • Manage efficient correspondence through group mailbox.

  • Ensure written procedures are always in place and up to date.

  • Program ARC and Excel Solutions to meet departmental needs.

  • Ensuring compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.

  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.

  • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required.

  • To escalate risk events immediately.

  • To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Financial Operations.

  • Strong understanding of Futures & Options, including Reconciliation, Position Maintenance & Regulatory Reporting, Option Expiration and Deliveries.

  • Knowledge of XTP Back Office system preferred.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and database management skills required.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
