JOB TITLE: Electrical Design Engineer, Energy and Utilities
LOCATION: Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania
SUMMARY
Ardmore Roderick is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design utility and highway infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale energy, transportation, municipal, and private development projects, designing relocations of overhead and underground utilities to accommodate new construction. This role offers the chance to work on critical energy infrastructure while growing within a dynamic and expanding firm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the design and development of design low and medium-voltage overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
Develop single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and electrical layout plans.
Prepare construction drawings and technical documents using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS tools.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, electrical, and environmental engineers.
Participate in field assessments to collect data and assist in developing engineering solutions.
Ensure designs comply with industry codes, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
2+ years of experience in electrical design, energy, or utility engineering.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and/or other design tools.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
EIT certification preferred; PE track is encouraged.
