Job Summary

The Associate Director of Student Life serves as an active member of the Booth Student Life team. This position will be responsible for the successful execution of several community, student hosted, and Student Life hosted events. This includes event planning, logistics, and coordination of activities and events for current and prospective students. Serves as an important resource to ensure an exceptional student experience and works closely with the Student Life and Program Operations teams in Hong Kong and London.

Responsibilities

  • Helps with programs management when appropriate.
  • Organizes current student social Student Life events including but not limited to the following areas of cross-cohort events, guest speakers, Elective Weeks events, Kick-Off Week events, and Graduation events.
  • Oversees the Assistant Director to manage the operations for all class weeks.
  • Coordinates and implements event logistics, researching and assisting with vendor selection including negotiating vendor contracts, preparing event budgets, processing and reconciling expenses, and preparing financial reports.
  • Manages vital components of the class weekend experience such as catering, coordination with other relevant Booth departments, and other event logistics.
  • Manages the XP Student Life Canvas Program sites.
  • Manages the SPC in terms of election and scheduling quarterly meetings and events. Manages the formal and informal student groups.
  • Collaborate with London and Hong Kong teams and facilitate necessary committees.
  • Assists in admissions yield efforts including but not limited to the following areas of yield events, phone calls to admitted students, admitted student gifts, buddy program, and admitted student inquiries.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with other departments/centers, such as Faculty and Academic Services, Polsky, and Rustandy. This includes managing communication to and from these offices, disseminating appropriate information i a timely manner, planning joint projects or meetings, and implementing new processes or projects.
  • Assists with staffing Student Life events when necessary; will require working nights and weekends when needed. Expected to be at Gleacher for class weekends.
  • Completes special projects and undertakes additional duties for the Executive MBA program and the broader Booth Student Life team as assigned.
  • Serves as the front-facing team member for students. Addresses student questions and resolves issues when possible, including, but not limited to Kick-Off Week, elective course selection, campus transfers, information updates, schedule/logistics, and events.
  • Communicates and discusses contract terms with outside vendors. Administers contracts. Maintains organizational records and archives relevant information and program materials. Receives a minimal level of guidance and direction.
  • Markets student activities programming throughout the year. Develops and implements protocols for evaluating the effectiveness of programs.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
