What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Threat Intelligence, the Analyst, Operational Threat Intelligence is responsible for tactical level information and intelligence collection, analysis, and production. This effort is geared predominantly toward protecting CIBC’s clients, assets, staff, and operations through the delivery of proactive intelligence across the cyber, financial, geopolitical, and physical security domains. The Analyst leverages knowledge and robust experience with intelligence methodologies to advance the Fusion Threat Intelligence program and deliver best-in-class intelligence products.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Intelligence Cycle Knowledge – Provide specialized advice, consultation, and analysis on intelligence issues and trends relating to Information Security, Fraud, Corporate Security, and Fusion. This will entail the production, oversight, and peer review of proactive tactical briefs while supporting existing operational intelligence tasks. Leverage open, closed, and internal sources to provide robust tactical-level analysis that captures analytical insights and results in concise and highly reliable intelligence products meeting consumer needs.

  • Support to Key Stakeholders – Support complex issues and incidents as an intelligence practitioner with an emphasis on cyber and financial intelligence. Identify potential threats that pose a risk to CIBC, take action, and contribute to event management to resolve issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. Undertake special projects with internal and external stakeholders, as assigned/required.

  • Relationship Building – Develop and manage relationships with management and business leaders, including guiding collaboration with security pillars, providing knowledge of intelligence best practices, and advanced source collection and analysis techniques.

  • Leadership and Team Player – Contribute to the development of the operational threat intelligence capability within the Fusion Threat Intelligence team. Contribute to the growth and development of highly skilled intelligence analysts across the entire unit. Contribute to a healthy work environment.

  • Strategic Thinking Approach – Provide support to Fusion Centre management, team members, and peers as required to support delivery of Fusion programs. Create, maintain, update, and share Fusion Intelligence dashboard and products, as required.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate knowledge in information security/cybersecurity, fraud or physical security (typically 2-3 years) and relevant postsecondary education (e.g. university degree or college diploma).

  • You can demonstrate exceptional ability to communicate in a clear, concise and logical manner, verbally and in writing; sufficient to convey complex information/ideas on issues involving interpretation and opinion, capable of ensuring senior leaders are kept aware of issues and provided informed and timely advice.

  • You can demonstrate enhanced analytical capabilities sufficient to conduct a broad scope of intelligence analysis. Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
