The 2025 Chicago Headquarters internship program will focus on Construction Equipment Products and Solutions. Our products and solutions help construct new cities, plan for urban growth, and create a sustainable world.
We're working on exciting technologies like self-driving machines, electric equipment, and remote-control systems to make construction more efficient and environmentally friendly. Also, through our continuing pursuit of reduction of greenhouse gases and waste generated by manufacturing sites and the lessening of the burden on the environment, Komatsu innovation will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
Key Job Responsibilities
Komatsu America Corp. (KAC) has a great internship opportunity for a Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or Strategy-related college student in Junior or Senior standing. The intern will have the opportunity to develop a cross-functional network and share hands-on experiences with adynamic cohort.
Learning:Master Komatsu culture and business model as demonstrated by completing and presenting a professional proposal for improvement.
Analytics:PowerBI dashboard development and report generation
Data Understanding:Learn about various warranty programs, systems, and policies Komatsu has, to support our customers. Adjudicate actual customer failure events
Process Development:Develop and update current processes to reduce number of touches and speed up resolution with program owners
Policy Development:Benchmark Komatsu’s standing in the industry through competitive comparison. Streamline current policy terms against many program offerings
Learn Komatsu methodologies for process improvement.
Participate in special projects and on demand reports and market research.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education:Must be at least in Junior standing at an accredited college/university.
Skills:
High level written and verbal communications skills.
Flexibility and maturity to interact effectively with executives, associates at all levels, and across cultures.
Ability to multi-task, manage multiple deadlines and work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results.
Has the ability to proactively engage in collaboration and possesses intellectual curiosity.
Should be open to learning about capital goods / heavy equipment in the construction and mining industry.
Should have interest in consulting, with any prior exposure (classroom setting, student organization, etc.) being a plus.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Excel, PowerPoint and other productivity tools.
Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
