Description
We are offering a contract-to-hire opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry, located in Chicago Heights, Illinois. The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in our team, focusing on the processing of financial data, maintaining accurate records, and delivering cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
· Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP, and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
· Cost Accounting: Perform in-depth analysis of manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and cost variances, providing insights to optimize operational efficiency.
· Reconciliations: Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, including fixed assets, inventory, and intercompany accounts.
· Audits and Compliance: Support external audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including local, state, and federal tax filings.
· Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with leadership.
· Process Improvement: Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
· ERP System Management: Leverage and maintain ERP systems to maximize data accuracy and streamline accounting operations.
· Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to staff accountants and other team members to facilitate skill development and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in the manufacturing industry.
· Technical Skills: Expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
· Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP principles and experience with tax compliance.
· Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
· Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and present financial insights to stakeholders.
· Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulousness in financial reporting and record-keeping.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
· CPA designation or progress toward CPA licensure.
· Experience in advanced compliance reporting and system optimization initiatives.
· Familiarity with AI-driven financial tools or emerging technologies in analytics (bonus).
