Position Overview:
As a Temporary Associate Curriculum Developer: ELA, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and reviewing lessons across educational content, specializing in ELA, with a focus on grade-level appropriateness, standards alignment, and the instructional experience. You will be deepening and expanding Nearpod's ELA offering, ensuring all content is engaging, fact-checked, appropriate for classroom use, and inclusive of all learners.
We are currently recruiting for multiple positions. While these are full-time temporary roles, we will seriously consider part-time arrangements for exceptional candidates.
Detailed Functions:
Use pedagogical expertise, knowledge of content delivery platforms, creativity, and eye for detail to create, edit, and review lessons and activities that:
incorporate specific skills in a rigorous and thorough manner
feature targeted instructional objectives
are intentionally designed and grounded in proven methodology
focus on fostering student engagement
are inclusive of all learners, equitable, and culturally responsive
Provide expertise in the subject matter of the curriculum being developed
Evaluate/categorize/survey existing Nearpod assets
Deliver assignments on time and within scope
Implement instructional strategies informed by current trends, best practices, and innovative approaches prioritized by the team
Be available during core team hours to participate in essential meetings and/or collaborative work
Required Experience and Skills:
Knowledge, Skills & Interests:
Has a strong understanding of literacy instruction based in the Science of Reading, educational theory, pedagogy, and instructional design
Has deep knowledge of curriculum standards and frameworks
Has strong writing/editorial skills
Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Can use educational technology tools in creative ways
Can use Google / Microsoft suites of tools (Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets / Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Can navigate a remote working environment successfully (using video conferencing and messaging systems, proactively managing time, tasks, and priorities, ensuring compliance with company trainings and requirements, promptly responding to communication)
Can work collaboratively with a team
Is trusted for follow-through, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines
Is eager for feedback and able to implement it
Is passionate about leveraging ed-tech solutions and Nearpod’s content and product to meet the unique needs of K-12 students, teachers, and administrators
Previous experience as an upper elementary ELA educator
ELA curriculum development experience for an ed-tech company, educational publishing company or at a district/school-wide level preferred
Bachelor's degree in education or a field related to ELA
Employment Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions
Hourly Rate: $35
Commitment: 40 hours/week (Will seriously consider 20 hours/week for exceptional candidates) M-F day schedule
