Curtiss-Wright Corporation Machine Process Engineer (SIGN ON BONUS) in Cheswick, Pennsylvania

With our continuing growth Curtiss Wright is looking to add a Machining Process Engineer to our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) facility! Join a company with a legacy of over 70 years serving the US Navy, Commercial Nuclear and Subsea Oil and Gas industries. At Curtiss Wright EMD you will assist in the Engineering, Designing, Manufacture, Testing and Delivery of some of the most sophisticated pumps in the world. The Machining Process Engineer will be responsible for fixturing, tooling, quoting, and troubleshooting machining of parts and assemblies used in our products.

Develops new and modified manufacturing processes, and specifications. Leveraging your hands on manufacturing experience to create a bridge between the design and production of unique large machine components.

Experience should include working with Mills, Lathes, Grinders, NC/CNC Machines. A strong understanding of manufacturing workflow highly desired. Exposure to tool purchasing is a bonus.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Identify and design tooling and fixtures to enable safe and efficient machining of large parts/assemblies.

  • Recommend and procure tooling for various style machines. EX: Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Mill-Turns .

  • Develop quotations for fixtures and machining of large parts across multiple machines .

  • Previous work with acquisition of new NC/CNC machines and related tooling desired.

  • Must be able to use CAM software (Solid Edge, Siemens NX, MASTERCAM, etc.). Should be comfortable with Oracle, MS Office Suite, and TeamsCenter .

  • Review Machining Non-Conformances and give recommendations on preventing recurrences.

  • Understand and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) concepts .

  • Able to work in a team environment.

What you Bring:

  • BS in mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in large machining .

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ NC/CNC Programing experience.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience modeling of machining fixtures using a CAM system .

  • Blue print reading, particularly involving GD&T per ASME Y14.5M

  • Experience working with larger rotating equipment manufacturing, Commercial/Naval Nuclear Industry, or Large Industrial Manufacturing

  • Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
