PROFESSIONAL PLACEMENT SERVICE LLC Molding Operations Supervisor in Chesterland, Ohio

3-5 years experience with molding, setting molds, processing, and familiar with molding machines for repair and upkeep.

SUMMARY

Molding Operations Supervisor must be able to set up molding machines, do mold changes and process changes to produce quality parts. Sign off on production paperwork and other documents. Must have working knowledge and be able to set up injection molds, molding machines, process molds, and be able to work with other team members such as engineers, maintenance, managers, and more. Set up and use a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Sets up and starts mold and needed auxiliary equipment. Requires good manual dexterity, good vision, attention to detail and ability to work with others as a cohesive team. Be able to load and unload trucks for shipping and many other duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the above and other duties may be assigned along with the following:

  • Generates sketches, models, and detailed designs of proposed components and assemblies, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to decide methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make or repair molds or machine tools.
  • Perform job changeovers in molds. Cleans and stores mold and auxiliary equipment.
  • Work with the maintenance department to investigate malfunctions of machines, equipment and help them to take proper action.
  • Able to read and understand written and verbal instructions and/or procedures.
  • Able to read and understand assembly and part drawings.
  • Able to read and understand part, process and assembly specifications.
  • Able to inspect parts to produce a quality product.
  • Able to follow ISO regulations and documentation.
  • Able to use equipment and inspection tools including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, drop gauges, depth gauges, magnifying lens, test equipment, etc.
  • Able to maintain cleanliness of work area including sweeping floors, dusting and cleaning machines.
  • Able to do other duties as assigned or necessary.
  • Able to work with and guide Engineers, Maintenance personnel and others to finish the job appropriately.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have exceptionally good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Must have knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and their applications.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree or two-year certificate from college or technical school plus an Apprenticeship training with a minimum of five (5) years of related mold shop experience or training; with the combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated experience in mechanical and electrical devices.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
