Cummins Inc. Power Generation Technician in Chesapeake, Virginia

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Chesapeake, VA.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Completing repair activities on generators or components

  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of service

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.

  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.

  • Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

  • Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.

  • Basic Diesel Engine experience.

  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of RV power gen units

Able to sayely and efficiently work by themselves

has basic understanding of small engine operation

prior power gen experience

  • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire

  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
