About our Team

Our product analytics team focuses on using data to understand and enhance the user experience of our customer facing products. We gather and analyze user interaction data from various sources to track how users engage with a product. The insights derived from this analysis help identify usage patterns, pinpoint areas for improvement, and influence product development decisions. By constantly monitoring key metrics related to the product usage, the product analytics team plays a crucial role in driving product strategy, optimizing user engagement, and ultimately contributing to the product’s success.

About the role

This role is centered around managing and optimizing Tableau reports and using SQL to support various project needs. As a key member of the data management team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data within reports and dashboards, designing SQL queries, and developing Tableau reports tailored to business requirements. This position also involves overseeing database management to maintain compliance with organizational standards, conducting daily data loads, and maintaining detailed logs of data updates and changes. You will produce clean, efficient code based on specifications and actively engage in project planning and review meetings to align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in Tableau and SQL, experience with data models, and familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing solutions. You will be regarded as the go-to Tableau Guru, expertly handling all Tableau-related challenges and inquiries within the team and the broader Tableau community within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize data flows using Tableau and SQL across various departments.

• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data in reports and dashboards.

• Design and develop SQL queries and Tableau reports for business needs.

• Oversee database management to ensure compliance with organizational standards.

• Conduct daily data loads and maintain logs to track updates and changes.

• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications.

• Actively participate in project planning and review meetings to ensure alignment with business objectives and timelines.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological advancements in the field.

• Collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders to understand and meet data requirements.

• All other duties as assigned to support the data management team.

Requirements:

• Advanced skills in Tableau for creating reports, visualizations, and dashboard analysis.

• Strong command of SQL for data manipulation and complex queries.

• Experience with data models and database design development.

• Understanding of software development methodologies like Agile and Waterfall.

• Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar.

• Knowledge of best practices in code quality, such as code coverage and encapsulation.

• Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as Redshift, Snowflake, and Databricks is a plus.

• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and data processes.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience in data management with a strong focus on data visualization and database techniques.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not required; equivalent experience considered.

• Proven track record with Tableau, including creating complex reports and dashboards.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems.
