Emerson Assistant Manager / Senior Engineer – Manufacturing Engineering in CHENNAI, India
Job Summary:
If you are a Manufacturing Engineer specialist, Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to work for our Pressure Management Business unit (Mahindra World City, Chengalpattu). This role will aim to provide understanding and technicality of drawings, manuals, procedures, routing creation and process required for assembly line.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Capable to handle multitasking and strictly adhering the task within expected timeline, highly capable to innovate new ideas and concepts in shopfloor.
Design and development of Jig and Fixtures with built in poke yoke controls, Process layouts changes in assembly shop and should be comfortable to make CAD drawings in Auto CAD.
Capable to identify and implement – Kaizens, Cycle time improvement projects, SMED projects, Poke-Yoke projects, Cost saving projects, 5S and Hand Safety projects.
Lead and implement 5S program and Kaizen program in entire factory and drive for world class standard.
Demonstrate and coordinate with operator for prove out of assembly process, equipment’s prove outs, cycle time prove outs.
Identify right suppliers to meeting the technical expectation to take up the project, Able to do a technical and commercial comparisons, Capable to identify the best cost and recommendations.
Identifying the projects for automation requirements to eliminate the manual work through automation and capable to estimate the investment vs ROI and framing up the technical requirements.
Should have strong knowledge on generating Standard Operating Procedure, Work Instructions, Control plan, PFMEA, JSA, HIRA for existing and new product lines and capable to training and demonstrate to shop floor team.
Capable to analyze the root cause on process issues and take appropriate CAPA.
Establishment of standard times, conduct cycle time study and do line balancing, eliminate the NVA for existing / New product lines.
Lead and drive the LEAN projects and VSM projects.

For This Role, You Will Need:
Expertise in auto CAD and Jig and Fixture Designing.
Expertise in process designing.
Expertise in Valve Manufacturing Process.
Expertise in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical / Industrial / Automotive / Manufacturing Engineering with proven experience.
Good communications and people management skills.
High level of integrity & trust
Must be a dedicated & Self-motivated Leader.
