Aerotek Quality Manager in Chaska, Minnesota

Job Title: Quality Manager

Job Description: As a Quality Manager, you will oversee quality assurance programs to ensure product excellence. Your responsibilities include identifying critical control points, establishing limits, monitoring procedures, and implementing corrective actions. You will contribute to strategic plans by providing data, reports, and trend analysis to achieve quality assurance objectives. Leading internal and external corrective action activities related to systems/products requiring CAPAs is a key part of your role. You will validate quality process specifications, measure production, document evidence, and update quality assurance procedures. Collaboration with Production, Engineering, and Development teams is essential to enforce quality requirements and promote company-wide quality improvement efforts. You will act as a liaison with external parties on product quality matters, travel to customer and supplier sites, and partner with customers and internal business units to resolve issues. Regular communication with customers and internal departments on quality matters is crucial. You will conduct quality audits, support new product introductions, verify quality documentation, and assist with NPI signoff. Working with the continuous improvement team to deploy process changes and participating in team meetings are also part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify critical control points and establish critical limits.

  • Monitor procedures and implement corrective actions and verification procedures.

  • Contribute to strategic plans by providing information, data, reports, and trend patterns.

  • Lead internal and external corrective action activities related to systems/products requiring CAPAs.

  • Validate quality process specifications and attributes, measure production, document evidence, determine operational and performance qualifications, review non-conforming logs, and update quality assurance procedures.

  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Development teams to ensure product quality and enforce quality requirements.

  • Organize and promote company-wide quality improvement efforts.

  • Evaluate and develop improved techniques for quality and reliability control.

  • Act as a liaison with external parties on matters related to product quality.

  • Travel to customer and supplier sites as necessary.

  • Partner with customers and internal business units to resolve issues.

  • Communicate regularly with customers and internal departments on quality matters.

  • Support the quality department with supplier-related issues.

  • Conduct quality audits of manufacturing processes and parts.

  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes.

  • Verify quality documentation and assist with NPI signoff.

  • Work with the continuous improvement team to deploy process changes.

  • Participate in team meetings, document action items, and keep the team informed of customer concerns.

Essential Skills:

  • CAPA experience

  • Blueprint reading

  • Lean Six Sigma

  • Sheet metal fabrication

  • AS9100 Certification and Experience

  • Engineer and/or Weld qualification experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools

  • Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams

  • Strong project management skills

  • Knowledge of quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001)

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality control methodologies

  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

  • Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure

  • Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders

  • Attention to detail and quality

  • Demonstrated ability to use statistical tools and performance measuring system analysis and methods

  • Experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment

  • LEAN Six Sigma, Green Belt, CQE, and/or ISO 9000 Auditing preferred

  • Brake and Punch press experience

  • Blueprint reading certification

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, you will be frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration, and occasionally to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud. You will be regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. Occasionally, you will need to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type & Location: This is a permanent position based out of Chaska, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $132000.00/yr.
