Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a CNC Set Up I to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC Machining Centers to ready machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the setup of CNC machines for production runs, including loading materials, securing workpieces, and installing tooling
Learn to interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to understand machining requirements
Assist in the operation of CNC machines to produce parts with tight tolerances and complex geometries
Perform basic CNC programming tasks, such as inputting tool offsets and adjusting machine settings
Conduct routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components
Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as directed by senior operators or supervisors to ensure quality and efficiency
Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications
Assist in troubleshooting machining issues and identifying opportunities for process improvement
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipment
Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and productive work environment
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity, with the ability to operate hand tools and machinery
Ability to learn and follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Willingness to learn and develop new skills in CNC machining and programming
Effective communication and teamwork skills
EDUCATION
- 2-year technical certification or equivalent experience preferred

SCHEDULE
- Monday-Thursday; 5:00pm-3:00am

Salary Description
$21.17-$28.86 per hour
