University of Virginia UVA Health Therapy Services - Physical Therapist - Outpatient - Neurologic focused in Charlottesville, Virginia
UVA Health Therapy Services is seeking an outpatient full time physical therapist to focus on neurologic care. This individual will work with adult patients with neurologic issues resulting from stroke, spinal cord injuries, MS, Parkinson's, etc.
Position Highlights:
Clinic Hours: Monday - Friday 7 am - 6 pm. Provider will work an 8 hour shift within those hours
Practice Location: UVA Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy - 545 Ray C. Hunt Dr, suite 2100 Charlottesville, VA 22903
Outpatient only
Ideal candidate will have experience working with adult patients with neurologic issues
Job Description
Performs physical therapy examinations according to professional standards and departmental policy
Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and executes a program of skilled physical therapy intervention.
Actively participates in professional growth of self and others.
Actively participates in quality improvement and program development.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Neurologic Certified Specialist certification through the APTA preferred
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
Experience: 6 months relevant experience
Licensure: Licensed to practice in Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping/traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
