YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

As an Electrical Superintendent, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful and profitable execution of commercial and industrial electrical projects. Working in close collaboration with the Project Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of the assigned scope, from managing materials, tools, and equipment rentals to supervising manpower. Your commitment to upholding high-quality craftsmanship and promoting safe work practices will be paramount in this role. Leveraging technology such as company iPads and smartphones, you'll track daily time entries, monitor production, and efficiently handle material orders.

Your leadership skills will shine as you supervise, mentor, and motivate the dedicated team working on your designated scopes. You'll regularly supervise a crew of anywhere from 15 to 75 people. Additionally, you'll be responsible for various reports, safety meetings, and job briefings, and maintaining a keen eye on project costs and schedules. ARE YOU A GOOD FIT FOR THIS ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT JOB?

The knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Proficient knowledge of the current NEC and NFPA-70E code and construction safety requirements
  • A current Journeyman or Master Electrician's license
  • Proficiency in the use of contract drawings, specifications and BIM models with a clear understanding of the installations of all other trades to ensure properly coordinated installations
  • A full understanding of the submittal process and the ability to communicate changes needed for field installations to the project manager
  • Ability to initiate disciplinary measures when appropriate
  • Working knowledge of contract schedules and documents and the ability to effectively communicate issues that could affect installations Ability to interpret field changes and communicate with project manager
  • Advanced working knowledge of all electrical installations including fire alarms, lighting control, switchgear, transformers, medium voltage, site, and groundwork
  • Great organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in meetings with general contractors, project managers, and engineers when discussing project statuses
  • Ability to work closely with PM, GC, and owner with the goal of contributing to a peaceful workplace and successful project
  • Sufficient conflict resolution skills to resolve complaints and grievances as they arise
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
