Join CommScope as the Sr. Director of our cybersecurity program, where you'll lead both proactive functions (threat intelligence, vulnerability management, penetration testing) and reactive operations (MDR, monitoring, investigations, incident response, and forensics).

Success in this role requires strong cybersecurity expertise and proven experience leading high-performing teams. You’ll set strategy, track key metrics, drive results, and communicate effectively across all levels.

How you’ll help us connect the world:

  • Develop and retain a global team of analysts to provide the cybersecurity functions listed above. Mentor and develop the skills / capabilities of your team members.

  • Deliver cybersecurity functions on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis across our global footprint, using a mix of managed services and in-house resources. Enhance existing SOPs. Develop a strategy, roadmap, publish, and manage to metrics that measure your function(s) effectiveness.

  • Fulfill the role of incident commander during cybersecurity incidents. Advise on and direct threat detection, containment, response, and remediation.

  • Maintain and enhance the policies and processes related to your function(s).

  • Act as a customer of the Security Arch & Engineering team to ensure you have the necessary vendor relationships and tools to deliver your function(s).

  • Act as a partner of the broader IT and Infrastructure teams to drive tool coverage, vulnerability remediation, and other IT-related activities.

  • Lead our Cybersecurity Fusion Center, a security guild drawn from across the company.

  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.

  • Identify opportunities to elevate and scale analysts ever further into knowledge work, automating identification and response to routine events wherever possible.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity and team leadership.

  • Deep technical expertise across on-prem and cloud environments, with hands-on experience in tools like SIEM, SOAR, FIM, IDS/IPS, DLP, EDR, firewalls, and email security.

  • Proven incident response skills across cloud, app, OS, and network layers.

  • Track record of building, leading, and retaining high-performing global technical teams.

  • Experience managing 24/7/365 operations with strong metrics and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent communicator with executive presence, able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Skilled in vendor management, security tool procurement, and leveraging professional services.

  • Experienced in writing security policies and procedures, and designing workflows using tools like ServiceNow.

You’ll excite us if you have:

  • CISSP or other senior-level certification.

  • Existing experience / relationships with law enforcement, security information sharing groups such as the ISACs / CISA / DHS / etc.

  • Previous experience managing key vendor relationships including Managed Detection & Response (MDR) and outsourced incident response and forensics.

This is hybrid role requires to be in our Charlotte, NC office 3 days a week. We are unable to provide immigration assistance for this role.

Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance.
