Product Manager

job summary:

  • Resources in this position are expected to be able to plan, organize, execute, and track the delivery of the 'phase 2' efforts of a newly delivered software (iTOA) that helps operational business units request and manage needs related to operating the electrical grid.

  • This resource will help setup a new Agile delivery team, and help define the scope for the 'Phase 2' delivery, then manage the oversight of that delivery.

  • This resource will require connecting various stakeholders in both IT and operational lines of business to ensure effective delivery and adoption of the toolset.

  • Ability to understand and quickly pick up on the business processes used in the areas assigned. Ability to work with limited direction / able to take limited direction and work independently.

  • Strong working knowledge of Agile and project management software and ability to track, project and report on project status.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and utilize new technology/applications on a routine basis.

  • Ability to multitask and to work effectively in a changing environment with numerous distractions and interruptions.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, customer relations skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience working in a team environment Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint)

  • 5-10 years relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment

  • Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action, preferably with experience shipping software.

  • Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs where you have the accountability to determine the best course of action to meet your goals.

  • Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a new product development team.

  • Clear passion for topics of technology products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate in our product space.

  • Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities.

  • Understanding of and experience working in a development environment.

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, marketing or related business degree, MBA/MIS/MS desired.
