  • ​Responsible for managing a technical organization with tactical and strategic decision making to support the engineering activities of the airline. This job is also responsible for managing efforts to continuously improve the products and processes of the organization.

  • Responsible for the professional development of team members

  • Supports the strategic direction of the Sr. Manager of A320 Fleet Engineering for the organization and manages the methods to achieve it

  • Provides coordination and oversight for accomplishment of Regulatory mandated items

  • Maintains knowledge of current and pending regulations, which affect areas of responsibility and ensures that all Engineering actions maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements

  • Establishes group work priority to support continuing safe, reliable operations

  • Liaises with internal and external supplier and maintenance organizations to ensure product specifications and maintenance activities actively support the goals established for the product

  • Provides management review and control over the A320 Fleet Engineering Team, including the development of projects, structure or processes supporting the overall continuous airworthiness maintenance program

  • Acts as focal on addressing technical and process issues essential to the success of the Company

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • 8 years engineering experience in Aviation Engineering

  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role in commercial aviation

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Masters of Business Administration or in Engineering

  • 5 years of experience in leadership role

  • Thorough understanding of AA Policies and Procedures

  • Aviation experience

  • Yellow Belt certification from a qualified source for Lean/Six Sigma (LSS) accreditation

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage major projects on schedule

  • Demonstrated skills in employee development
