Job Description:
EMERGENCY SERVICES ASSOCIATE
An ideal candidate will have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and must give evidence of both. They will have to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills as well as a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to life safety and assets.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure that all employees and visitors to our facilities are safe and secure within the environment that they occupy
Ensure all standing security, safety and emergency protocols are consistently implemented
Respond to all calls for service, weather security, medical or criminal in nature
Routinely inspect and document deficiencies in all fire and life safety equipment
Participate in all training held for officers or designated individuals
Acts as part of the emergency response team
Accurately document and record vehicles that enter on property
Accurately document and record persons that enter the facility
Participate in unannounced and planned inspections as directed
Participate in unannounced and planned emergency drills as directed
Patrol parking lots for proper parking and issues notices as needed for parking, liter, and other violations
Assist in investigations of any issues, such as violations, theft, disturbance
Assist in review of camera footage and other means necessary involving incidents, theft, etc. as directed
Maintain positive working relationships with peers, co-workers, supervisors, and local law
Acts as receptionist, greets and register visitors, venders, contractors, etc.
Answers phones, transfer calls, take messages and deliver messages when applicable.
Receives and sort mail, packages, parcels, and deliveries
Operate access control system, make badges, changes access groups, issue badges
Investigate security breaches as directed
Other duties as directed by manager
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
Maintain certifications deemed necessary to fulfill duties, i.e., Security Certifications requirement by Governing Authority, First Responder, etc.
Good reading and writing skills are a must
Additional coursework and training in security administration, security systems, fire and life safety codes and equipment
Knowledge and Experience
Completion of a basic law enforcement curriculum or an equivalent CALEA accredited curriculum is desirable
Proven experience as a security officer is preferred
Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g., CCTV, access control programs)
Experience in emergency response activities
General knowledge of security protocols and procedures
A basic proficiency with computer hardware and software
Documented communication and interpersonal skills
Good organizational skills
Committed and reliable
Attention to details is a must
Ability to write legible on printed documents that can be read by others
Ability to accurately enter pertinent data into various database systems
