Robert Half Data Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining a data warehouse from scratch to support our clients' data needs. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and design and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing reports and visualizations to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and business objectives.

  • Design and implement a data warehouse architecture from scratch to store and organize structured and unstructured data.

  • Develop and maintain automated data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into the data warehouse.

  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.

  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance and scalability.

  • Develop and maintain reports and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar to provide insights and support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate data warehouse functionality with other business applications and systems.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and data warehousing.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to data warehouse and reporting issues.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on developing data warehouses and data pipelines.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL).

  • Experience with data modeling and schema design for data warehouses.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Java for data processing and automation.

  • Experience with ETL tools and platforms (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica).

  • Experience with report development and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data requirements and design effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
