Bober Markey Fedorovich Controller in Charlotte, North Carolina

A client of BMF, a Premier Manufacturing Company based in Charlotte, NC seeks a talented professional to fill the role of Controller. As a key member of the Management team, the Controller will report directly to the CEO and will assume a hands on role in leading the day-to-day activities of the accounting department in this fast paced, growing company, to maximize its profitability and ensure sound financial

reporting. 

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Hands on management of all aspects of the

accounting function of the organization to ensure credibility by providing

timely and accurate financial reporting, account analysis, and account

reconciliations and other management reports on a timely basis.

  • Responsibility for A/R, A/P and payroll functions, as well as

recording of transactions and adjusting entries and management of accounting

staff.

  • Assist in the coordination of employee benefit plans and workers’ compensation.

  • Cash management and Customer communications and

collections.

  • Maintain strong relationships with division and affiliate Vice

Presidents, Administrative Managers and outside accounting firm

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team

  • Maintain a system of internal control policies

and procedures to ensure (1) compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state

and local laws and rules for financial and tax reporting, (2) safeguarding of

corporate assets and (3) assurance that reporting systems accurately capture

all financial data.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; CPA required

  • 7+ years overall hands-on accounting and

supervisory experience in a privately held company

  • Manufacturing experience preferred, ideally in a

multi-company or divisional environment

  • Experience working with multi-state and multi-country accounting and reporting issues

  • Excellent technical skills in accounting

including experience with payroll, purchasing, cash flow management, and

inventory management

  • Excellent organizational and time management

skills with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong overall computer skills and proficiency in Excel and Word

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

along with ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization

  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem

solving skills

  • Results oriented, high level of personal

integrity and dependability and a strong sense of urgency

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
