The Red Gate Group is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to support the United States Air Force (USAF), Air Force Operations Group, Mission Assurance Division (AF/A3OB). In this critical role, you will review, assess, and strengthen telecommunications infrastructure that supports installation protection programs and mission-critical operations.
As a Telecommunications Specialist, you will evaluate communication systems, equipment, and routing, identify vulnerabilities, and provide strategic recommendations to mitigate risks. Your expertise will directly contribute to the Mission Assurance (MA) program by safeguarding Task Critical Assets (TCAs) and Defense Critical Infrastructure (DCI)—ensuring the continued success of vital USAF missions.
Key Responsibilities:
Telecommunications Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of telecommunications systems, including routing, equipment, and infrastructure, to identify vulnerabilities that could impact mission execution.
Risk Identification & Mitigation: Analyze communication-related risks, assess potential impacts on mission-critical assets, and develop mitigation strategies to enhance operational resilience.
Mission Assurance Support: Ensure all assessments align with DoDI 3020.45, AFPD 10-24, and AFI 10-2402, supporting the USAF’s Mission Assurance Construct and broader DoD policies.
Technical Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports outlining vulnerabilities, risk analysis, and mitigation strategies to senior USAF leaders and DoD stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with mission assurance teams, cybersecurity experts, and infrastructure personnel to integrate findings into the Mission Assurance Assessment (MAA) process.
Infrastructure Analysis: Evaluate critical systems such as secure communication lines, data transmission pathways, and emergency communication capabilities to identify and resolve weaknesses.
Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Proven experience identifying and mitigating communications-related vulnerabilities across complex telecommunications systems.
Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, including network routing, equipment assessment, and mission-critical communication systems.
Ability to perform vulnerability assessments, analyze data, and produce clear, actionable reports for leadership and operational teams.
Experience working within the DoD, preferably supporting mission assurance programs or critical asset risk management.
