Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal or Staff Systems Engineer to implement Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for the Sentinel Systems Engineer position(s) located in Chandler, AZ. The candidate will work with other members of the team to ensure that the Sentinel system architecture is captured in CAMEO.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the development, decomposition, refinement and documentation of system, subsystem and component requirements and capabilities to support the Sentinel program. This includes ensuring the system architecture is captured in CAMEO and corresponding requirements are captured in DOORS (and that the two are consistent).

• The Sentinel Sr Principal MBSE is directly responsible for working on the overall System-level development effort including integration of subsystem elements into the overall System-level design architecture and related formal deliverables to the customer

• The Sentinel Sr Principal MBSE is directly responsible for working the overall System-level end to end performance assessments of the Sentinel system and identifying and leading the resolution of systems performance gaps relative to stakeholder requirements.

• Collaboration with senior systems engineers, other disciplines, management and the customer to ensure timely development and delivery of the Sentinel deliverables

• Lead ad-hoc teams in the execution of tasking per the Integrated Master Schedule.

• Assume ownership of different portions of the development effort.

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of related engineering experience

• Interim or Active DoD Secret security clearance is required – work is performed in a closed area full time (100% onsite / 100% Closed area)

• Requirements Derivation and Decomposition experience

• Experience with MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler or similar

• MBSE Experience

• DOORS or other requirements Management Experience

• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical personnel

• Demonstrated experience in requirements decomposition, validation and verification

• Demonstrated ability to lead ad-hoc team

Preferred Qualifications:

• OMG-Certified SysML Professional (OCSMP) Level 1 & 2 Certification

• Experience with Teamwork Cloud (TWC) and Branch Management of project within TWC

• Missile Defense or Command and Control Experience

• Mechanical Engineering exposure - ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and analyses

• Electrical Engineering exposure - ability to read and understand electrical schematics and analyses

• Thrust Vector Controller or Actuator experience

• Solid Rocket Motor experience

• Supplier Management experience

• Control Account Manager experience

Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00Salary Range 2: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
