Position Overview:

We are looking for a Powder Painter to join our team in our Chandler facility. The Powder Painter will work with Industrial and Commercial paints and primers utilizing various technical equipment (gravity guns and HVLP equipment).

In this position the Powder Painter must be capable of producing class 1/A finishes on high end products and texturizing parts. This includes body work, prime, cut/buff and final paint/finish.

The Powder Painter must be able to consistently produce high quality finishes with a minimal amount of rework.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Follow work instructions from the job order.
  • Review customer documentation.
  • Ensure the correct process is identified on the job order.
  • Complete job order paperwork.
  • Ensure parts are masked correctly.
  • Run process controls when required by the job order.
  • Report out of tolerance parts to quality control.
  • Make necessary improvements to produce a high-quality product.
  • Keep work area neat, organized, and clean at end of every shift.

Skills:

  • Proficient with powder guns, curing ovens and other paint equipment.
  • Proficient applying single stage powder in a production environment on numerous geometries with 98% acceptance.
  • Proficient with preparation of parts: Scuffing, Sanding, Masking.
  • Basic knowledge of how to apply powders to different substrates.
  • Basic understanding of ISO9001 and AS9100 quality system.
  • Basic understanding of Mil and ASTM requirements.
  • Proficient with all Mil-Spec primers and paints.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of experience working as a Powder Painter.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be able to work part as part of a team.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 10 hours each day.
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs alone.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
