Operations Supervisor

Bowhead seeks a pool of applicants for a Supervisor position to support operations at the Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) in Chambersburg, PA.

Responsibilities

Summary: Bowhead is seeking a Supervisor to oversee labor production operations at Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) in Chambersburg, PA. The Supervisor will manage employees on an assigned shift. Employees performing assignments under this task order will provide industrial, maintenance, logistical and technical labor support services to sustain and enhance LEAD’s production requirements and manage daily operations for various functional divisions including, but not limited to, Production Engineering, Major Items, Industrial Business, Electronic Support, Manufacturing and Fabrication, Mechanical Equipment, Supply, Transportation, Maintenance, Paint/Coating and Mine Resistant Ambush Platform (MRAP) support. Position will most likely be 1st shift.

Must display expertise in:

  • Supervision (100+ employees)

  • Manage the daily operations activities

  • Production planning

  • Strategic planning

  • Army regulations and Army Support Services Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations

  • Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures

  • Monitor quality of delivered products and services in accordance with the performance requirements and takes corrective and preventive action to ensure compliance.

  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA and other safety requirements. Coordinate with company HSET to ensure safety compliance.

  • Prepare briefings/updates and attend meetings, conferences and briefings.

  • Maintain open communication with customer, Site Management and company to ensure compliance.

  • Must possess a strong desire to provide excellent customer service solutions and interact with coworkers and clients in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Confer with supervisory personnel and customer to discuss and resolve matters; such as work procedures or operational problems

  • Track, monitor and record the working/non-working time of employees in the company time-keeping system

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in business preferred.

  • Seeking a minimum of five to ten (5-10) years’ of related experience in the management of a similar sized company or related multifunction Army Depot operation.

  • Prefer candidate with at least five (5) years’ supervisory experience on a government contract.

  • Ability to access and successfully maintain access to government / military installations is a requirement of this position.

  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts

  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
